I hope someone far more versed in the complexity of the medical system than I am can answer this simple question: If our health insurance market is so beneficial, why are our health costs so high and our life expectancy so low?

The impact of not having a family #doctor: Patients are worse off, & so is the #HealthSystem.
"About 6.5Mil Canadians — roughly 1 in 6 — don't have access 2 prime medical care.
It’s a problem that puts their health @ greater risk & renders the entire public health-care system less efficient than it could be, both economically & in terms of the quality of care 4 every1.
In other words, if we can fix the shortage of family physicians, we can save lives & $$."

RT @OBShealth: Primary care is the foundation of #healthsystem, but many countries in Europe struggle with shortages & equitable distribution of general practitioners
How can we make working in primary care more attractive?

"US still has the worst, most expensive health care of any high-income country"
This is what happens when you privatize the most fundamental sector of a society: health!

As trickle-down clearly could never work, it is high time to finally level the playing field for the people.
A #WealthTax, a steep #CarbonTax, in particular for private trips to space, and an #ExcessProfitsTax / #WindfallProfitTax / #WindfallTax of at least 50% would go a long way to pay for a state-of-the-art #PublicTransport and #HealthSystem...
@jd1515151 Basically everybody is paying more taxes than #Trump or many/most other #rich people.
And not only rich people: For example, #Amazon is more or less not paying any taxes in Austria although they make many Millions each year in our small country alone.
No wonder why our #healthsystem is about to collapse even without COVID issues on-top.
RT @beladajka: #LongCovid and its impact on #healthsystem is the focus of the new opinion of the #healthexpertpanel. https://health.ec.europa.eu/publications/facing-impact-post-covid-19-condition-long-covid-health-systems_en

RT @OBShealth: Isabel de la Mata @EU_Health reminds us that #healthsystem #resilience has been on the agenda even before the #pandemic.
Now we need to learn from this crisis & be better prepared for future shocks. Assessing the performance of health systems helps this process.
