Hey fediverse, I did a thing!

We've now got some lovely rain barrels.
these started their lives transporting tapioca syrup from India, and now have a new career in water conservation.

All it took was about $50 of supplies and 5 hours. It's supposed to rain tomorrow so we'll see how they do.

This quilt was made by my grandfather's grandmother. It's probably around 100 years old, give or take 25 years. Sadly I don't know when she made it or which grandmother it was, but I'm happy I've finally found a place to display it.
Due to its age, it's very worn and some parts are delicate, which is why it's not on a bed. I didn't have a place for it in my old apartment, but now I'm happy for it to brighten a wall of my craft room.

Howdy #fiberarts and #crafting folks. I have a question about repairing a knitted item. I bought this knitted long cardigan a long time ago and after time, the collar is separating from the body of the garment because it used to hang up on the hook of a coat rack. What is the best way for me--a basic hand sewer who does not have access to my yarn stash or my knitting tools--to fix this?

Friends, I must request your advice on a very important matter.

I just acquired this beautiful cabinet to display all my minis, foremost among them the majestic and terrifying Tiamat. Unfortunately the display case is currently unbalanced with her awesome power, potentially causing a collapse of the entire multiverse. What other other being should sit across from her to fill out the other door and once again bring stability to this realm?

Can't believe I didn't post this. The other day I went back to Joann and they were only selling fabric by the bolt. I got everything in this pic plus a few bolts you can't see, and velcro, and ribbon, for about $35.

I'm working on redoing my husband's wedding expo photography booth, so this came in handy! I'll miss Joann but I'm super excited about these deals.

Still super stoked about my $125 Cricut Maker bundle too.

So I’m trying to get into sewing and to convince myself that I can be really bad at the beginning (especially that I don’t have any experience), but it doesn’t mean that I’m banned from having fun. It’s also really cool to have a project to work on.

I bought 4 kilograms of scraps of fabric (because i couldn’t decide and it was the easiest way to force myself to do stuff), and decided to make a patchwork jumpsuit.

And I’m excited.

Patchwork material: several of sewn squares laying on the cutting mat, very much looking like „in progress”
Sewn with each other different materials, something pretending to be a jeans, burgund color fabric with white flowers, white fabric with yellow pattern
