Jon Sullivan<p>If you’re going to count some garden birds in Aotearoa-New Zealand this year, this week is the time to do it. Each winter the NZ Garden Bird Survey gives us a snapshot of how our birds are doing. The more people join in, the more we learn about our feathered friends.</p><p><a href="https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/565412/annual-new-zealand-garden-bird-survey-begins" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">rnz.co.nz/news/national/565412</span><span class="invisible">/annual-new-zealand-garden-bird-survey-begins</span></a></p><p><a href="https://gardenbirdsurvey.nz/take-part/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">gardenbirdsurvey.nz/take-part/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/NZ" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NZ</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/Birds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Birds</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/NZGardenBirdSurvey" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NZGardenBirdSurvey</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/EcologicalMonitoring" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EcologicalMonitoring</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/CitizenScience" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CitizenScience</span></a></p>
Ali Clarke :flag_tino:<p>Aotearoa bird fans - the annual NZ garden bird survey starts tomorrow! If you have a spare hour over the next week you can contribute to this great community science project by counting birds. You can survey your own garden or a park. The Minerva Carlin pea flowers are a little slower to show themselves.</p><p>I’m enrolled in a little citizen science project this year with Garden Organic called The Revival of the Carlin Pea. <a href="https://www.gardenorganic.org.uk/what-we-do/citizen-science-and-research/members-experiments/the-revival-of-the-carlin-pea" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">gardenorganic.org.uk/what-we-d</span><span class="invisible">o/citizen-science-and-research/members-experiments/the-revival-of-the-carlin-pea</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/GrowYourOwn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GrowYourOwn</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/CitizenScience" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CitizenScience</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Organic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Organic</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/GrowOrganic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GrowOrganic</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/GardenOrganic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GardenOrganic</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Allotment" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Allotment</span></a></p>
Terror.Orte von uns am <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://openbiblio.social/@tibosl" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>tibosl</span></a></span> (an der <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://openbiblio.social/@tibhannover" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>tibhannover</span></a></span>). Die Besonderheit unseres Ansatzes kommt dabei gut rüber: Wir kümmern uns darum, dass das historische Wissen auf <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://wikis.world/@wikidata" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>wikidata</span></a></span> dauerhaft frei verfügbar bleibt, vor allem aber auch besonders gut entdeckt und ergänzt werden kann.
