Nielso<p>So I found that there is <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/DecentSampler" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DecentSampler</span></a> also for <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/iPad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iPad</span></a>. I thought: Well this would be easy, I got this <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/CameraKit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CameraKit</span></a> and I have a USB-<a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/MIDI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MIDI</span></a> input device, so I could just have a dedicated computer/tablet playing these few samples.</p><p>I tend to forget that the MIDI support of <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/IOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>IOS</span></a> 15.x is broken beyond repair.</p><p>Now I have 2 iPads with IOS 12 that have working MIDI support, but these are too old for many apps I need (such as Allen&amp;Heath mixing console remote control).</p><p>I have 2 other iPads with IOS 15, most apps run on these, but none that need MIDI work.</p><p>I ordered two younger used iPads now which are supposed to run everything. For a while…</p><p>Needless to say, processing power, battery life and all the rest of the very old iPads would be sufficient for just everything. It's entirely a software compatibility thing going on. The IOS 15 devices have less processing power left than my older ones / waste too much of their power for a uselessly high screen resolution.</p><p>And I'd claim this is on purpose by <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Apple</span></a>.</p>
