Right now, the carbon intensity of electricity generation in the North of Scotland is, or close to, zero.

Elsewhere in the UK, it's up to 333g CO2/kWh

Yet people in the north of Scotland – especially on the islands – pay more for electricity than those in the south.

That is *totally* fucked up, and we need to fundamentally re-imagine our energy "markets' (as if such a thing even actually exists).

A power company that has received £6bn in UK green subsidies has kept burning wood from some of the world's most precious forests, the BBC has found.

The way #Drax and others can keep on burning wood because it counts as #RenewableaEnergy is just scandalous. We really must drop the language of #Renewable (a hangover from peak oil worries anyway) and go for #ZeroCarbon energy instead.
