This year I leaned heavily into combining my love of cycling with my love of photography. I tried to take some photos every ride and went on a tear of at least 100 days straight of photos. This was one of my favourites.
My most memorable ride of 2022 was when I rode from my home to Niagara Falls, traveling through the entire Golden Horseshoe region around Lake Ontario.
I was only 95% sure I was going to be able to pull this off, and that 5% uncertainty made it super exciting. I'll never forget what it felt like to get hit with the mist from the falls after riding 190 km for 7 hours.
I'm still getting faster, with 650 personal records this set this year. I clearly need to get better at giving kudos though. Next year I'm going to aim for more kudos given than received.
This amount of activity put me in the top 1% most active people on Strava this year.
Last year I did 17,000 km, so at the beginning of 2022 I set 15,000 km as what I thought was a modest goal for the year. I guess I was a bit off
