A snapshot of my (prepaid) expenses so far this year using NearlyFreeSpeech.net to host my #Hugo and #Faircamp sites.

(the deposit fee is for dumping another 20 bucks in my account)

Leaving aside deposit fees and domain name registration, it costs me about $0.12 per day to run both sites as "production." I could with only a little effort consolidate them into one site and cut that in half. And "non-production" sites cost a fraction of this, even.

What domain registrar should I move my domain to when I shutdown my Squarespace site? Hover.com?

I want to be able to run the activitypub plugin that my current host blocks.

I finally* did a proper re-installation of my #WordPress (but not the latest version due to my PHP version being old and I don't know how to fix that) -- my #webhost had made improvements that allowed me to successfully reinstall WP. I lost pretty much everything... even the images. Had to do an import. Good thing I still got a backup copy, from way back 2020.

In file manager, about 90% of the images there are now 1kb in size and appearing as yellow triangles with an exclamation point.

Hello all #admins! I'm rolling out my own instance soon but having struggles since Mastodon implements its own reverse proxy from the same server, resulting in multiple redirects.

My plan is to move the reverse proxy parts from nginx to my own service where I host all other proxies. This is an Apache because yay.

Question is, does anyone else have the same setup and have a conf ready?
