Spiral #Galaxy NGC 2566 from #Webb
#Infrared image of spiral galaxy NGC 2566 shows diffraction spikes from Webb #telescope, not real features. Its bright center likely hosts a quiet supermassive black hole. At 76 million light-years away, its star-forming clouds are visible, akin to the Milky Way in size and structure.

Young Star Cluster NGC 346
NGC 346, a massive young star cluster in the Small Magellanic Cloud, is 210,000 light-years away. Its stars shape their surrounding nebula and trigger new star formation. This James #Webb Space #Telescope #infrared image shows the region's vibrant colors across 240 light-years.

The #Hubble & #Webb space #telescopes —celebrated for their long list of discoveries as well as stunning images of the #universe — would remain supported under the proposal. However, no other telescope would be funded.
Webb unmasks true nature of the Cosmic Tornado
The NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope has captured a beautiful juxtaposition of the nearby protostellar outflow known as Herbig-Haro 49/50 with a perfectly positioned, more distant spiral galaxy.

#Webb’s NIRCam captured this image of the dwarf galaxy Leo P, showing compass arrows, a scale bar, and a color key. The field spans 1,000 light-years. Near-infrared light is translated into visible colors. The sky’s orientation differs from ground maps, and distances are marked in light-years and arcseconds.
The latest #JWST image is absolutely stunning! The last time I saw something this mesmerizing was watching a 1000x magnified video of chocolate. It’s amazing how much wonder exists, both on the grandest scales and in the tiniest details!
