#doge failed to close the Department of Education after a court battle told him he wasn't allowed to do that in no uncertain terms.

Of course we have a pretty open double-presidency at this point, as Elon and Trump are financially invested, and corrupt billionaires with the only real goal of power, and selfish gain.

#trump now has another executive order to close it down as retribution for DOGE being brutalized in court.

Dropped off posting a month or so ago due to *waves at the entire US atm* and my spouse catching a nasty cold. Just no bandwidth left.

I did finish a very soft, very gentle novel that I'm quite happy with. SB published / kickstarted (my first!) by June.

Also made progress on the Kill Those Bastards novel which I'm also quite happy with despite it blooming from short story to Epic Novel length.

Going to try and post more. We'll see.

@tj

I'm with David; this is basic metaprogramming with Python :)

Generating functions dynamically (and names for them) can be really handy. Of course, it's needless complexity in those cases where it's not actually necessary...

Yes, we can make the shape with pure #CSS, no SVG, but, as codepen.io/thebabydino/pen/vYq shows, aligning parts making up concave rounded corner shapes is a problem.

Still, there is one thing that bothers me: putting the image in the SVG `filter` means we need a different SVG `filter` for every different image. Boo!

So... for the same #SVG `filter` part regardless of the image solution!

We start with #CSS `subgrid`!

Over the last few weeks I've been looking into getting an English proficiency certificate for academic reasons and my god, it's been a long time since I've felt as disabled as I do when dealing with these institutions. If you're not a mouse-using, non-screenreader dependent "normal" person that can stare at the screen for hours on end, have fun filling in inaccessible forms, supplying PII to random strangers and waiting 4-6 weeks for other random strangers to decide if you're allowed to wear headphones and run a screen reader yes or no. So much for getting this done real quick because it might come in handy one day ... #ugh
