Railmaps<p>Today's historic photo of the day: Exactly 40 years ago today, diesel loco 42208 hauls <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/train" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>train</span></a> S37, the Cooma-bound Canberra Monaro Express, near the Uriarra Road bridge SW of Queanbeyan, NSW, August 1 1985.</p><p>This train normally ran as a DEB set, however this day, this loco hauled set deputised. The train ran from Sydney to Canberra, where the loco attached to the rear to haul it back to Queanbeyan. Here we see it after departing Queanbeyan again just a few hundred metres onto the Cooma line.</p>
