Don't you sometimes get exasperated when witnessing so many of the discussions on creating a better fedi, that deal with crazy technical bandaids for the wrong tools we built. Microblogging sticky note exchange.. and how do we feature-add to that until it supports society? Isn't that the ultimate Golden Hammer anti-pattern, really?

If a peopleverse is where online technology serves people's needs in their daily lives, can we we imagine one? Can we evolve that?

Our modern society is built on a #technosphere, where #SocialMedia facilitates our communications and how we interact. #FreeSoftware plays a huge and important role in facilitating all this.

Then merely musing, should #SoftwareFreedom not be considered to be just as nuanced as #FreedomOfSpeech? Are the four #FOSS freedoms reasonable, or are they akin to #FreeSpeech absolutism?

In an analogy to cell biology, does #FOSS represent primordial soup? Or does it form organisms, with organs and skeletons that evolve? Is it maybe even an intelligent organism, aware of the world? Is a single FOSS project an autonomous cell, involved in protein exchange with its environment to sustain itself? Or is more like RNA viral matter, used for good and bad purposes, gratis. #sx

We find this quite obvious, and think people who fall for this anti-pattern are foolish.

Yet here we are in our #hypercapitalism-encased little global world, measuring *everything*, all value, every transaction in monetary terms.

How is that not the bluntest, dumbest hammer, and most ignorant way to misperceive value of life?

We need #NuancedActivism that can pull people gently by the shirt timely enough to bring them back into the fold of #CivilSociety where #truth and #CriticalThinking can be nurtured again.

What we have is #RepellentActivism that puts a hot iron to anyone acting suspicious, and ensures they're so hurt never to return.

Repellent #activism is loved by #extremists both on the left and right as it feeds into voracious #PuritySpirals and suck more people into deep #radicalisation.

What a weird word is #ClimateChange now I come to think of it. You can be for or against now that the climate provably changes, and still the name covers the load. No wonder about all this confusion and inaction.

A #philosophy byte: Is having a #CommonsIdeology, an #ideology that is shared and binding force for an open #commons, a case where ideology as #concept is fine and unproblematic when reasoning #society-scale and solve its wicked problems?

Or is ideology as concept by definition flawed for any real practice use, since it can never account for the intricacy of the complex #SocialDynamics that are at play. A simplification, #coping mechanism for #people to think order to chaos.
