The RoSE Network (@RoSE_Network_) is excited to announce the first event from our Statistics Anxiety Special Interest Group!
Happening on February 8th via Zoom, join us for a relaxed interactive discussion on our experiences teaching (and learning) statistics and plans for the future of the Statistics Anxiety SIG.
Our final Special Interest Group is the Research Methods SIG. This group looks at how can we conduct ethical, ecologically valid, controlled experimental research with our students.
The SIG lead for this group is currently vacant so if you'd like to join us and lead the group, let us know!
This week we're introducing our Special Interest Group leads! The @RoSE_Network_ has several Special Interest Groups (SIGs), each covering a different area of statistics education research.
We're starting with introducing our Statistics Software SIG! This SIG is interested in exploring questions about the educational pros and cons of different statistics software and how to teach and learn them effectively.
INTRODUCING OUR NEW COMMUNICATIONS TEAM!
We are delighted to share that @nrennie Magdalene Ho Hui Yi, and Torsa Chattoraj have joined the RoSE Comms Team!
They are taking over all our comms accounts and @jennyterry is taking a step back.
See replies for more! #StatsEd

Just send me your mailing address and the number of stickers you’d like. And I’ll send them out in the mail

Wasn't the easiest few years (I wonder why ), but I have learned so much about being a better educator (and learner!), about myself (and when I need to 'put my own mask on first') and about what my values are (being closer to whānau/family one of the big ones behind the move).
To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
May your residuals always be patternless.
And #NZTwits hit me up for stats & coffee chats! ️
The #RoSE2023 #StatsEd conference abstract submission deadline is being extended until 17th Feb!
We've already got an exciting lineup for y'all, but we want it to be even bigger and better, so keep 'em coming!

What do 'Little Bunny Foo Foo ' & art maps of Boston have in common? They were both part of class today!
Most international students can't travel to be with family for the Lunar/Chinese New Year, so we talked about making beautiful maps of a place that is important to them—as well as hitting some basics of spatial data, #ggplot and image files along the way.
