Putting wire leads through a board, soldering, then clipping leads vs. just soldering a resistor on a board is so much easier. Seriously. Ab da durften wir nur noch ab Lupe SMDs löten.</p><p>Vor dem Update hatte es ja auch noch funktioniert.</p><p>Ich fürchte, tausende Infos immer kleiner auf einen Bildschirm haben zu müssen, werden viele im Alter merken.</p>

(Though through-hole and surface mount do make an appearance in the Extra class license question pool, I think.)</p><p>For a moment, I thought you were calling me out for NOT including a magnifying lamp and a USB microscope, because they did come up. But I decided they were tools that are on the periphery of what we're doing as a club, right now. hkz<p>Given the positive experience with the 386 <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/adapter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>adapter</span></a>, why not leverage the same process for something slightly different?</p><p>TheByteAttic designed a <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/W65C02" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>W65C02</span></a> -&gt; 6502 adapter that buffers the data bus with an 'HCT245, this is a variant of the same design (with another '245 for inbound control lines too), but, instead of having the transceivers on the side, it uses <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/SMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SMD</span></a> pins to occupy the exact same space as an original 6502, allowing a <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/QFP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>QFP</span></a> CPU to sit on top of the adapter.</p><p>I'd like to use for repairs on <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/VIC20" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VIC20</span></a> units.</p><p>So I can do the Shatner.
