Currently, Buzuruna Juzuruna give lentils to solidarity kitchens and hand out seed packages to farmers displaced by the war, so that they can continue to produce food as soon as they arrive somewhere in the northern regions.

Taras Grescoe @straphanger has an article out on the #LongNow foundation about seed banks, concluding, after seeing Siria’s and Ukraine’s ancient seed banks reduced to smithereens, and Svalbard’s threatened by climate change, that the real deal is in what we eat, i.e., the seeds that we keep replanting, therefore arguing for wildly diverse diets and against vast monocultures, the latter also susceptible to plagues and demanding environmentally damaging levels of fertiliser and pesticides.
