Es kommen im Laufe der Zeit neue Zeichen hinzu. Dann fehlen diese Zeichen in der Anzeige bzw. werden durch Platzhalter ersetzt. So kennt etwa ein älteres <a href="https://mastodonium.de/tags/android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> weniger Unicode-Zeichen als ein aktueller <a href="https://mastodonium.de/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a>-<a href="https://mastodonium.de/tags/desktop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Desktop</span></a>.</p><p>* Das genaue Aussehen von Symbolen und Emojis variiert. Unicode gibt etwa "Gesicht mit Schutzmaske" (FACE WITH MEDICAL MASK, U+1F637 (128567), 😷) vor, aber nicht die exakte grafische Umsetzung.
