As a new Rust programmer, I keep forgetting to run "cargo run" when I change my program. I keep running its installed version.
Yet another mistake Rust doesn't prevent.
@juliank yes, but have you seen their indentation style?
@ProPublica Gee, I thought part of the problem was that "illegals" don't pay taxes. WTF would the IRS have any information on them? #sarcasm

The problem is always government interference. If governments would deregulate the concentration camp industry it would unleash the innovation of the corporate sector to bring more and better camps that people might actually want to be in! #sarcasm

Nothing says "compassion" and "human rights" quite like cramming 58,000 people into over 200 facilities, a third of whom are clearly dangerous criminals with absolutely no criminal history whatsoever. And let's not forget the delightful touch of a 15x growth in just six months for these non-criminals. Truly a masterclass in efficiency and humanity!
Here in Canada, we're obviously just not as... innovative when it comes to dealing with immigrants. We still cling to antiquated notions like "due process" and "alternatives to detention." So boring! We only detain people if there's a genuine risk of them skipping out on their hearing, or if we actually don't know who they are, or (gasp!) if there's a real public safety concern. No flair, no drama, no military-style raids on families just trying to make a better life. So terribly un-American of us, isn't it?
Honestly, it's a bit sad. We could learn so much from our southern neighbors about how to really scale up a detention system. Imagine the economic boom from building all those new facilities! Think of the job creation for guards! The sheer patriotism of it all! But no, here in Canada, we're still stuck in the past, fumbling around with things like "humanitarian considerations" and trying to avoid separating families. So incredibly passé.

I'd say, NO, the world'd be a better place!
