Ari [APz] Sovijärvi
I've had my HP Laserjet 4050 for quite a while now. I scored it for free from an office supply store at around 2002 as faulty, with a note saying "screen shows stars, does not start". I quickly carried it away, knowing perfectly well how this thing looks like when it boots.

It takes around 30 seconds for them to come up from cold start, during which the display shows stars for 20 seconds, after its OS takes over and it starts showing what it does.

I see the manufacture date on this one is 4th of February 2000, so it's 25 years old and still runs perfectly. Thanks to it being a PostScript native device, even the current OSes, up to latest mobile devices print with it just fine.

Thinking about this thing's age I realised it's older than my friend's son, who got his driver's license last year!

#sustainability #reuse
