Hundreds of thousands of Computers won't be able to upgrade to Windows 11, but that shouldn't make them eWaste.
Kudos to the @kde team for this amazing initiative!

I love me some BlueQ zip bags! Mine hold stitch markers and such.
Made of recycled feed sacks, melted down and rolled into fabric, then printed, cut and sewn.
Sturdy as hell, well priced, the zipper bags come in various sizes. They also make funny socks and dish towels. Available from #Amazon and the #BlueQ website.

Not expecting comments of stars on this post, but I’m much more alert now because I’m onto my second cuppa of double brew coffee and the world is looking brighter now. I do want to note my rant about eggs. Hey! I have never had trouble getting eggs here in Phoenix even at the worst of the bird flu disruptions. There were times there were a lot less eggs and brands of eggs in the stores here, but never complete outrages. And I never once had to pay more than $5.69 for a dozen. Your experience?#TipOfDay #Recycle #NoTech #Eggs
And now for banal! But practical! And I really need my second cuppa right now. Up at 5 am because holy cow, I fell asleep last night at 7 pm. Yikes. So here’s my #TipOfDay what I do with just a few eggs left. It’s when I really need to make more space in the fridge. I cut down a cardboard egg carton to fit 4 or 6 eggs. It holds the few stray eggs just fine. I imagine Amazon sells an egg holder but this is fine and recycles. #Recycle #NoTech #Eggs
Ottawa friends: Does anyone know of a company that recycles trophies and medals? My adult children no longer feel that they need their sport trophies from their childhood, and they left them in my basement. I found a place in Kingston but I can't find one in Ottawa.
“Right now, there is a huge demand for such ‘hybrid’ laptops... Most people don’t care about having the latest model; they just want something that works and won’t break the bank.”

There's a thriving market in India for cheap laptops that are made by salvaging parts from several different PCs from different brands and stitching them together into a "new" laptop made from scraps, despite opposition from PC makers. #Refurbish #Reuse #Recycle #India #RightToRepair #Computers #Laptops https://www.theverge.com/tech/639126/india-frankenstein-laptops

#FunFactFriday: Construction materials are a crucial part of our future, and new research has found a way to recycle cement that is just as strong as conventional cement with a fraction of carbon emissions. Is this some concrete news, or is it doomed to collapse? News Source: https://techxplore.com/news/2025-03-recycled-cements-emissions-slacking-strength.html
Reuse, Repair, Recycle
‘Repair’ workshops are not just effective, they change the way people think about what they have and what they might buy. Having volunteered a day a month over 4 years I also understand the satisfactiongives. Not to mention making some things economically viable for those who don't have the ‘luxury' of dump and repurchase and encouraging manufacturers to reform.

My neighbor asked me for a clock in a special format for her office, and now it's done.
I made the clock with wood from an old pallet.
