PIDs for Software
This online seminar will explore how #PIDs can improve software documentation, citation, and preservation. We’ll cover national and international initiatives, such as HERMES software publication system and @swheritage ( #SWHID) including possibilities and practical challenges. Perspectives from @datacite and @DNB_Aktuelles will also be shared.

As it seems, using Lego aesthetics is legally doubtful: https://www.lego.com/en-de/legal/notices-and-policies/fair-play?locale=en-de
How do I know? Well, some here might remember the wonderful image collection of Lego minifigures for research data management on Zenodo: https://zenodo.org/records/11147887 - the access is now restricted, and I asked for the reason. So, yes, you may use such images for non-commercial, educational purposes - with a note. Yet, be careful. I will certainly change my chapter cover slides.
SWHIDs (SoftWare Hash IDentifiers ) are persistent identifiers #PIDs for software source code artifacts such as source code files, source trees, commits, and other objects typically found in version control systems.
Great news: The #SHWID now meets the #ISO standard.
Congratulations @swheritage

Check out our new PID icons!
We've created a set of icons to visually represent Persistent Identifiers (#PIDs) and their use cases—from datasets and software to researchers and grants!
Improving data discoverability, facilitating visual analysis, and promoting a more unified understanding of research information.
Check out the full collection and and carry it into the world!
