It would be good to have it as an option when right-clicking the taskbar though instead of having to open it from the app launcher. Not sure how to set that up personally</p>

Rob McBryde :redhat:<p>I think that <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Pop_OS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pop_OS</span></a> is overkill for running CasaOS, especially since I plan to unplug all peripherals and hide the computer away in the corner somewhere. </p><p>I'm considering switching to Ubuntu Server which <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/CasaOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CasaOS</span></a> supports.</p><p>I've seen people recommend Debian, Xubuntu, and others. </p><p>My computer hosting this server is a 2017 Lenovo Thinkstation with i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD running the OS.</p>

James<p>This is probably only relevant to a *very* small number of people, but since I just spent all morning figuring it out…</p><p>If you are trying to get <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/ConnectWise" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ConnectWise</span></a> (remote screen-share tool) working on <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/Pop_OS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pop_OS</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> and the shellscript installer is just failing silently, and the client never launches, try installing the "icedtea-netx" package.</p><p>That seems to be installed on stock Ubuntu 22.04 desktop (or at least it was on my Ubuntu machines), but for whatever reason my Pop_OS machine didn't have it. </p><p>With it installed, ConnectWise suddenly works. Magic!</p><p>Glad CW supports Linux, but slight shade at having a setup script fail silently.</p>

Eugenia L<p>Every panel applet on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Cosmic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cosmic</span></a> takes about 33 MB of RAM each, resulting to Cosmic using 2.4 GB of RAM on a cold boot. That is excessive for a brand new, "clean" DE, and on par with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a> (that has a history of 40 years that needs to carry with it).</p><p>I honestly don't understand why it's like that. Most people try <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> on their older PCs, or a main PC that isn't <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Windows11" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Windows11</span></a> -capable.
