Am #Vatertag packe ich gleich den kleinen Nachwuchs und die Frau in den Elektrofiat und fahre zum großen Nachwuchs, um dort den #Raspberry neu zu installieren und ein #PiHole zu konfigurieren. Was Väter halt so machen.

Hm, nicht wieder richtig ans Laufen bekommen. Nächste Woche besuchen wir den Filius sowieso in seiner Butze.
Nach vier Jahren bekommt der Pi dann auch eine neue SD-Karte. Das OS wird vom Imager gerade geschrieben. Und dann schaue ich, ob ich das #PiHole vor Ort an den Start bekomme.
Lauffähig war es letztlich auch, aber fürchterlich langsam.

This time I talk how I am blocking ads and trackers from all my devices, including mobile phones. I do that using PiHole and Tailscale, and thanks to using Tailscale the whole setup process is very simple, any device I add to my private network gets adblocking automagically.

It is now already Tuesday morning but everything is back online.
#Pihole is back up so #DNS resolution works again and the rest of the family can use the internet! NFS provisioners can provide persistent volumes, #CertManager issues HTTPS certificates, #Unifi controller is back up to allow me to actually make changes to my network config (such as, say, change DNS settings when pihole is down... ) #HomeAssistant automates away, #Nextcloud is seeing sunnier days, #Photoprism <3

Spent the last 3 hours making #Tailscale work seamlessly with the rest of my network; now I can access all my containers, backups, files, etc with the same ease no matter where I am :-)
A nice side effect is that I can have ad blocking on my phone when I'm not at home, via the #Pihole.

Silly name, but the #pihole is a great way to block ads on every device in your home. If anyone needs any tips to get started let me know.
Man kann ja mit einem Pi-Hole die Werbung aus seinem Heimnetzwerk filtern. So wahrscheinlich auch die aus Youtube wenn ich das am TV gucke, oder?
Für gewöhnlich bastelt man das auf einen Raspberry und bindet das Ding vor seinen Router ein.
Kann man so einen Raspberry mit Pi-Hole fix und fertig irgendwo kaufen?

@cyb_detective I was getting pissed because this wasn't working at home... then I remembered that my #pihole blocks all that.
Now that I see it at work, very useful, thanks.
I recently changed to a fritz box router and pinole has decided not to work anymore...
Anyone got any ideas? I can access the web interface but DND doesn't work from at least some of my devices...
I'll probs be changing my pis which host all my services to use k3s soon so will probs reinstall OS then, in case that makes any difference.
The new router did change my gateway btw, I think all the devices use the correct one now though.
Just moved.
Haven't set up my #pihole at my new place yet. Doing many things on the internet is very painful at the moment.

I also have a third VPS which I use solely as a DNS server with PiHole. Does it make sense to also merge that one and have pihole on the same server that will host my blog and GTS? Opinions?

Damit sind es schon zwei #raspberrypi Projekte:
1. Endlich mal das #PiHole angehen. Rasp ist vorhanden.
2. Audioplayer (ist. noch nichts vorhanden ^^)
This weeks stupidity… I made a mini 5u HomeLab for my HomeAssistant and PiHole boxes that sit inside an Ikea storage crate.
Includes a Pi5 16GB, Pi 3b+, Pi Zero W2 and a Pimoroni Badger for stats.
