The grand entry took 20 minutes! As they approached the end, there were so many dancers that the floor of the coliseum could no longer be seen. This was the first day and the drummers/singers were in competition. They were lined up on the two sides. On the second day the drummers were in the middle and by the time the dancers entered, they could no longer be seen. This photo is from day 1 at the end of entry. 3/5

The powwow took place at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque NM. The first photo is at the beginning of the Grand Entry. It opened with a dancer holding the eagle staff. Behind him are the war bonnets, then the outgoing Miss Indian World, and the head man and woman dancers. The coliseum floor is empty at this time. 2/5

Some cleansing for the time lines today. Went to #GatheringOfNations Powwow over the weekend. I've been attending powwows for nearly my entire life and this weekend was unlike anything I've ever experienced. The energy of the dancers and drummer/singers was amazing.
