Led by the intrepid Alex Genevsky , we examined how deep brain activity (in the Nucleus Accumbens or #NAcc ) can forecast choices out of sample in much larger groups (e.g., in #crowdfunding and #videoviewing markets).

We found that while behavioral forecasts depended on demographic match, neural forecasts (from the NAcc) did not, potentially supporting inferences from smaller samples. So, beyond considering #representativeness of a sample, researchers might also benefit from considering representativeness of different choice components.

So many of us were looking forward to a federal institution endowed with ‘teeth’ which would turn the cozy grifting political world upside down to prosecute graft, maladministration, corruption and cronyism, all highly visible to the public to build trust in our public service and service providers. God what a dream that was… Labor didn’t deliver… God what a let down. 24 months on I’ve still not recovered from the treachery.

@RichForrest2 surprise, surprise. When even Dutton had to admit there was a strong possibility the committee would refer this matter to #NACC, you can't then run a 'political witch hunt' line with any credibility at all. I mean, none of them are credible, it's just the chutzpah with which they seek to defend the impossible then use the expected (and entirely reasonable) outcome as some kind of evidence for ulterior political motives. They weaponise democratic systems to subvert those same systems. It's shameless and dangerous.

You may have seen my posts about my Dad's aged care home dropping their previous strict measures on covid outbreaks, resulting in my Dad testing positive today Hang onto your hats, wait 'til you hear what @Mark_Butler_MP & @AnikaWells are doing to #agedcare now #auspol.
I had an online meeting with the home's manager & some of the unit managers today about the completely preventable scenario which has now given my Dad & others covid (all vulnerable people).
I had been quite shocked at the incident because previously, the home had been great in their efforts to manage outbreaks & keep cases low. Turns out after the last covid outbreak, a few families had complained to federal Dept of Health about the manager cancelling residents social activities during the outbreak. Sensible infection control measure, right? Not according to the Dept of Health under Mark Butler. They upheld the complaint, so the manager now MUST adhere ONLY to the latest National Guidelines on managing covid outbreaks in residential care facilities (which has zero acknowledgement that covid is airborne) AND the manager MUST NOT, repeat, MUST NOT add in any EXTRA infection control measures that aren't specifically mentioned in the guidelines.
So yes, dear reader, even though the manager of my Dad's home is one of the unicorns recognising #CovidIsAirborne, she now cannot protect residents from covid. Furthermore, Dept of Health says as long as residents & families are told there's a covid outbreak in the home, & kept updated, then residents are apparently (according to the Dept) making an "informed choice" to attend a group social activity except really, they're not informed, are they?!
There's no government public education campaign that #CovidIsAirborne, no government education on how important masks/ventilation/clean air, no release of data on case numbers, virtually no way to get a PCR anymore.
In summary, it is now official policy under Mark Butler & Anika Wells to REFUSE infection control measures for #agedcare residents in covid outbreaks in residential aged care. This is a 'kill them' policy. It cannot be viewed any other way. #CovidIsNotOver #NACC #auspol @auscovid19
