Looking back at my master thesis, I still think the concept of driving a rigged character with live-streamed motion capture data to have a VR scene react in real time to a real human's movements was pretty cool.

Why Didn't Motion Capture Replace Animation?
A look at pure motion capture animation, how studios thought they could use it to have animation without animators, and why that wasnt necessarily how it works.
I had no idea mo cap was an effort to decrease animators. I was worried about CG replacing handdrawn. But it does comfort me that all these situations were more complicated than that.

I'm a beginner in most of my fields but I learn fast and have many fields of interest. I am writing my thesis using #Unity, #SteamVR and #MotionCapture (cameras + retro-reflective markers). I have professional background in programming and educational background in psychology. I live in Germany (UTC+1) but I'm okay with working remotely.
I was trying Webcam Motion Capture with some live singing and it's PRETTY GOOD! I'm not giving it much to work with: just an old PS3 camera 
The recording stays because, hey, not too shabby!
I have some funky math to think about for audio syncing, since FL Studio is in the middle and VSeeFace takes care of the mouth movement.

After some searching, I found a dataset of individuals walking in C3D format. I eventually converted that into CSV so I can work with it easier. Then I fumbled with trying to convert 3D points to 2D points. But kept at it and got to this, which made it all worth while!
