Handlebar brackets are done… I’ll mount the board on it tomorrow.

Sometimes you forget to measure something precisely but it all still works out in the end.
What are the chances that someone on Mastodon makes custom #tags for #dogs?
I need the tag to have an embedded #NFC chip (ideally NTAG216) that I can program/re-program myself, the back of the tag printed/etched with my own custom #QRcode, phone number, NFC icon, instructive text, etc. and the front of the tag with my dog’s name.
I’ve found some dog tags like this on #Etsy, (none in Canada, though), but they don’t seem to let you use your own QR code or rewrite the NFC data. #crafts #maker
What is T1S you ask?
It's an #industrial, #automotive and #IoT focused networking system that allows you to #network devices together with just a single pair of wires. Without needing a network switch! Just run wires from one device to the next and you're set!
ManT1S makes it super easy to get started with this exciting technology!

There will be a larger 12v battery on the back to power the amplifier and speaker cabinet, on the rear rack of the bike.
The 12v battery does have USB output but I don't want to route another cable from the back to the front.
(I can jam one more USB power bank on the front easily enough.)

I'm starting to figure out the "dashboard" for the Beat Bike. I'll have the RD-6 mounted onto a 14"x11" board along with the battery pack for it, and the controller that gets input from the reed switch/magnet at the rear wheel.
The controller needs power, so I may add another battery to the right of it.
(Oh, laser cut banana for scale!)

Meet #Aflowerbox, a 3D-printed music player I’ve been working on the past months. It’s tinker-friendly and I’m happy to share plans if anyone wants to build one.
This weekend I’m showing it at the #MakerFaire #Hannover. Hope to see some of you there
Making progress on this 3D printed handlebar clamp for the Beat Bike…
A little more progress on the Beat Bike… switch connected to controller with TRS cable.
I'm running a campaign on Crowd Supply for my new ManT1S board: a tiny #ESP32 module with T1S Single Pair #Ethernet, including #power distribution and a cool #networked #development model based on Micro #Python! Please help me spread the word and sign up for updates if you have any interest at all! (Crowd Supply now pauses project progress until there are at least 200 signups.) #embedded #distributed #electronics #maker #projects

I don't know who needs to hear this but making your own double sided tape by super glueing masking tape together is a game changer.
I learned it in the context of an easy CNC clamp alternative but use it for things like template routering.
I've not used bed adhesion chemicals, just blue painter's tape years ago on earlier 3D printers.
But having struggled many hours with this large flat part with many initial holes that aren't properly adhering, I am trying a salt solution on the bed.
My 6yo son has a kit of Snap Circuits that he loves to tinker with, powered by 2x AAs. We wanted more flexibility, so we bought an NTE1904 3.3V regulator from a local mom and pop #electronics store and just finished our little #circuit this weekend. It may not be pretty, but it works! Now we can power the kit with any AC or USB outlet, and most importantly, the #diy #solar panel we recently built! #solarpunk #maker #kids
Built a Wi-Fi deauther with ESP32 + web interface
All educational, all on my own network — but full of packet-slinging fun.
Read how I did it http://www.soloquestdev.xyz/2025/08/building-wi-fi-deauther-with-esp32-and.html

Built my first little 555 astable timer today
Just a humble LED blinker, but it feels like magic when the circuit comes alive.
Maybe this is the start of my journey into electronics and 8-bit retro computing.

@blinry Thank you for the great link! They are also on Mastodon: @freesewing and an #EuropeanAlternative:
