@musevg @jwildeboer I hope the discussions going on in Brussels about a strong military defense are not as slow as those about protecting democracy against disinformation tools like X. It seems that our belic mentality, built up over centuries, can make us fail to give the right priority to what I agree Putin is winning: a disinformation war.

The use of X by decision makers as their main communication channel is a good indication of this mistake. I hope they can read and, the most difficult part, understand, this Open Letter to all European Politicians and Leadership to Leave X leavex.eu

Ha! The Open Letter to All European Politicians and Leaders to Abandon X has finally been published. I didn't get a confirmation email, but I decided to check before sending a grumpy email to the site administrators.

I feel that the campaigns encouraging people to leave X have slowed down, but we still have millions of fools indirectly supporting Musk's agenda. My primary concern is with the politicians whose salaries we contribute to and whom we can demand. Now is the time to reach out and see if there are any leaders in Europe with the guts to take a stand.

Their feedback will be crucial.

Wie lange bleiben Politiker der #EU und aus #Deutschland, die sich oft so kritisch über die neue Regierung der #USA äußern, noch auf X?! Jetzt ist es wirklich fahrlässig, noch dort zu bleiben.

@cyberfelidae Eine sehr gute Idee! Leider gibt es dabei ein großes Problem: diejenigen, die ein Abschalten von X beschließen müssten, kleben selbst noch auf der Plattform. Die Politiker in #Europa und #Deutschland könnten ohne ihr geliebtes #X kaum einen Tag leben.

Diese Trägheit und Unfähigkeit, X zu verlassen, fällt unter die Jämmerlichkeit, die #Trump so an Europa verachtet. Solange unsere Polit-Elite das nicht begreift, bleiben sie und wir dumme Knechte der #USA

@ozzelot I hope that those who want to delete their account start their grace period right away, create their Mastodon account, search for their contacts on #X, reconnect and delete that contact on #leaveX. To those who they don’t find send DM to join you all over there. Once they’ve deleted all their contacts on leaveX, they can naturally and painlessly delete their account – and be free of X.
