DeeAnn Little<p>Maybe a long shot, but has anyone gotten KOReader and Nickelmenu running on a converted Tolino to Kobo ereader? Originally branded as a Tolino Shine Color and currently running as a Kobo Clara Colour. Usually it's straightforward on native Kobo (Linux) and works after some jumping through hoops on older Tolinos (Android) but this one has me stuck. It's pretty much Kobo, but not all? bok<p>I managed to mess up my <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/Kobo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Kobo</span></a> Sage somehow, so I had to do a factory reset of the <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/ereader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ereader</span></a>. I reinstalled <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/KOReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KOReader</span></a> (and also Plato, which I couldn't get to work last time), but now I'm going to have to spend a couple of hours reconfiguring it to the way I like. I'll backup the software folders this time.</p><p>Fortunately I backed up my books, so they're fine. But this does mean I've lost the stats koReader kept, and I'm going to have to reconstruct the first week of this month's calendar by fiddling with date settings to get what I read to show up on the days I read them. The titles should work, but the daily histogram is lost.</p>
Adële<p>I have found a cheap old 7" Samsung tablet and I've managed to install a custom ROM. it is upgraded from Android 5 to 7.<br>Not terrible but it removed all bloat preinstalled apps and permitted to install <a href="https://social.pollux.casa/tags/koreader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KOReader</span></a> from f-droid.This soft is very good to transfer such devices to eBook reader.<br>I will wait before buying a <a href="https://social.pollux.casa/tags/kobo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kobo</span></a></p>

Fabio Manganiello<p>Less than a week into my new <a class="hashtag" href="https://manganiello.social/tag/boox" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#BOOX</a> Note Air4, and I already don’t know how my life was before it.</p><p>This device is amazing. After years spent using old B&W notebooks and synchronizing them to SD cards, I have a notebook that runs a modern version of Android, and with a Notes app that actually supports WebDAV synchronization - which means that my notes will be available as PDF files on my Nextcloud instance as soon as I close them.</p><p>Since it runs Android pretty much without restrictions, I’ve also proceeded with installing F-Droid on it and Fennec, Element, my RSS app, Nextcloud Notes and ntfy.</p><p>Oh, and since it’s basically an Android tablet with a color e-ink screen and 6GB of RAM you could also watch videos on it (but again just because you can it doesn’t mean that you should).</p><p>And its AI features are also nice an unintrusive. Wrap some handwritten stuff in a square/rectangle, and it can easily be converted into text. Do a messy scribble on something, and anything underneath will be erased (although I still think that the double-sided pen/eraser gadget shipped with the Mobiscribe was more intuitive).</p><p>And this device really shines with the <a class="hashtag" href="https://manganiello.social/tag/koreader" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#KOReader</a> app. It turns it into a powerful e-book reader, and with <a class="hashtag" href="https://manganiello.social/tag/wallabag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Wallabag</a>, RSS feeds and OPDS support (synchronized with my personal library running on <a class="hashtag" href="https://manganiello.social/tag/ubooquity" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Ubooquity</a>) you can’t ask for more.</p><p>Oh, and shall we talk about the ability to run SSH sessions on an e-ink tablet?</p>

Was ich nach kurzer Zeit gemacht habe: <a href="https://norden.social/tags/KOReader" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KOReader</span></a> installiert, der ist sooo viel stabiler und besser als der InkPad-eigene.</p><p>Lesen von PDFs klappt erstaunlich gut, habe schon die Shadowdark-Regeln mit 300 Seiten und die White-Box-Regeln aufgehabt: Umblättern ist mehr als akzeptabel schnell, die Anzeige sehr gut.</p>
