Ich habe den größten Teil meines Lebens in Israel verbracht, wo wir eine Familie gegründet und unsere Töchter großgezogen haben – aber der Iran ist immer meine Heimat geblieben. Seit Oktober 2023 habe ich unzählige Bilder von Männern, Frauen und Kindern gesehen, die neben den Trümmern ihrer Häuser stehen, und ihre Schreie haben sich in mein Gedächtnis eingebrannt. Aber wenn ich die Bilder aus dem Iran nach den israelischen Angriffen sehe und die Schreie in meiner Muttersprache Persisch höre, fühlt sich das Gefühl des Zusammenbruchs in mir anders an. Der Gedanke, dass diese Zerstörung von dem Land verursacht wird, dessen Staatsbürger ich bin, ist unerträglich. Im Laufe der Jahre ist die israelische Öffentlichkeit davon überzeugt, dass sie in dieser Region existieren kann, während sie ihre Nachbarn zutiefst verachtet – indem sie nach Belieben und mit brutaler <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Gewalt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Gewalt</a> mörderische Überfälle auf jeden verübt, der ihr in die Quere kommt. Seit fast 80 Jahren steht der „endgültige Sieg“ kurz bevor: Man muss nur die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Pal%C3%A4stinenser" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Palästinenser</a> besiegen, die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Hamas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Hamas</a> vernichten, den <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Libanon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Libanon</a> zerschlagen, die nuklearen Fähigkeiten des Iran zerstören – und schon gehört das <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Paradies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Paradies</a> uns. Aber seit fast 80 Jahren erweisen sich diese sogenannten „Siege“ als Pyrrhussiege. Jeder einzelne stürzt Israel tiefer in <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Isolation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Isolation</a>, <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Bedrohung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Bedrohung</a> und <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Hass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Hass</a>. Die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Nakba" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Nakba</a> von 1948 hat die <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Fl%C3%BCchtlingskrise" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Flüchtlingskrise</a> ausgelöst, die einfach nicht verschwinden will, und den Grundstein für das <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Apartheidregime" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Apartheidregime</a> gelegt. Der Sieg von 1967 hat zu einer <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Besatzung" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Besatzung</a> geführt, die den palästinensischen Widerstand weiter anheizt. Der Krieg vom Oktober 2023 ist zu einem <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/V%C3%B6lkermord" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Völkermord</a> eskaliert, der Israel zu einem globalen Paria gemacht hat. Das israelische <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Milit%C3%A4r" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Militär</a> – das in diesem ganzen Prozess eine zentrale Rolle spielt – ist zu einer sinnlosen <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Massenvernichtungswaffe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Massenvernichtungswaffe</a> geworden. Es hält seinen hohen Status in der betäubten Öffentlichkeit mit spektakulären Stunts aufrecht: <a href="https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2024/09/exploding-pagers-and-radios-terrifying-violation-international-law-say-un" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Pager explodieren</a> in den Taschen von Männern auf einem libanesischen Markt, oder eine Drohnenbasis wird mitten im Herzen eines feindlichen Staates errichtet. Und unter dem Kommando einer genozidalen Regierung verstrickt es sich immer tiefer in Kriege, aus denen es keinen Ausweg sieht. So viele Jahre lang hat sich die israelische Gesellschaft unter dem Bann dieser angeblich allmächtigen Armee davon überzeugt, dass sie unverwundbar sei. Die totale Verehrung des Militärs auf der einen Seite und die arrogante Verachtung der Nachbarn in der Region auf der anderen Seite haben den Glauben genährt, dass wir niemals einen Preis zahlen würden. Dann kam der 7. Oktober und zerstörte – wenn auch nur für einen Moment – die Illusion der Unantastbarkeit. Aber anstatt sich mit der Bedeutung dieses Moments auseinanderzusetzen, gab sich die Öffentlichkeit einer <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Rachekampagne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Rachekampagne</a> hin. Denn nur durch <a href="https://mastodon.trueten.de/tags/Gemetzel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Gemetzel</a> ergab die Welt wieder einen Sinn: Israel tötet, Palästinenser sterben. Die Ordnung ist wiederhergestellt.
