#IFindHope in the growing adoption of #AltText and the volunteers responding to the Alt4Me tag, who help provide image descriptions for those who need it. Increasingly, tech builders are recognizing the importance of promoting this behavior. Conversations about #disability (including #InvisibleDisability and #ChronicIllness) are becoming more mainstream.
Despite the title, this is a pleasant story about people's need for compassion and love. There is NO CONTENT WARNING, but I do use the word "shit" once. It's a personal experience taken from the draft of my book in progress, which I'm planning to share more stories from in the future. The underlying theme of many; Sometimes people just need a little of our compassion, time, and initiative to help them have a better life with dignity.
