Mike Stone<p>I saw this yesterday. I'm wondering how hard it would be to pair the Mini Lite with a <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@homeassistant" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>homeassistant</span></a></span> back end and let <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> use it for sensors and as a satellite for voice commands. The article says they're "fully programmable in Python", so it FEELS like that should be a possibility, but I don't have the skill set that would be required to do that. I might buy one if I thought I could use one that way.</p><p><a href="https://techcrunch.com/2025/07/09/hugging-face-opens-up-orders-for-its-reachy-mini-desktop-robots/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">techcrunch.com/2025/07/09/hugg</span><span class="invisible">ing-face-opens-up-orders-for-its-reachy-mini-desktop-robots/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HuggingFace" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HuggingFace</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Reachy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Reachy</span></a></p>
Rommudoh<p>small issue during <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> migration - I forgot I had to change the config.txt for using the Phoscon RaspBee II <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Zigbee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Zigbee</span></a> adapter. Also, I had to manually install the DeCONZ addon for it.</p>
Home Assistant<p>In 2025.7, we made improvements to the Areas dashboard. 👏🏻</p><p>The dashboards the community has shared helped shape this design 🤩 and we would love to see how it works for you. Rommudoh<p>Second round, this time the <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> on my <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/RaspberryPi4" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RaspberryPi4</span></a> - I still had a 32-bit install and it was time to migrate. Support ends this year and <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ESPHome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ESPHome</span></a> already couldn't be updated any more.<br>It was relatively easy - create a <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/backup" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>backup</span></a> on old system, boot a new install and select <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/restore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>restore</span></a> on the setup page.<br>It took a while to restore everything, and I got impatient, but after around 30 minutes it was finished and everything like before.<br><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/RaspberryPi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RaspberryPi</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/HomeAutomation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAutomation</span></a></p>

Mike Stone<p>"Using the app as a launcher"</p><p>I'll admit, the idea of using <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@homeassistant" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>homeassistant</span></a></span> as a "Launcher" caught me off guard for a second. My pseudo-decaffeinated brain was trying to work out how I'd use the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> app as a launcher replacement on my phone. It took me longer than I care to admit to figure out this will replace some 3rd party apps to use phones/tablets as Home Assistant screens. Now that I've figured out what they're talking about, great idea! Love it!</p><p><a href="https://github.com/home-assistant/android/releases/tag/2025.6.6" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/home-assistant/andr</span><span class="invisible">oid/releases/tag/2025.6.6</span></a></p>

Jorge<p>For the <a href="https://pug.ninja/tags/jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>jellyfin</span></a> experts out there. The <a href="https://pug.ninja/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> Jellyfin integration allows sending remote commands to Jellyfin players. There's a list of commands here: <a href="https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/blob/master/MediaBrowser.Model/Session/GeneralCommandType.cs" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/b</span><span class="invisible">lob/master/MediaBrowser.Model/Session/GeneralCommandType.cs</span></a></p><p>The integration does say "if supported" but I have no idea which clients support what. I can send volume commands to the MacOs Player, but the ToggleFullScreen command does not work.</p><p>So my guess is, it's not supported. Doesn't work on a web player either. What client supports this command?</p>
