Have spent the last few days really cleaning up my Digital Music cloud and backup.
Quite organised now.
There are many other sub-levels under the _* directories.
This work was done entirely on 2 terminals: pCloud cloud storage and local backup hard drive.

I could also mount the encrypted partitions on the #HardDrive and to recreate the symbolic link which I’d deleted. Luckily this allowed my original system to start #Booting again. However, something was still wrong with sudo but looking it up, there was ample help online about what was wrong: the #program has to be #setuid 0 and so once I was able to do that I recovered the system. Phew.
On Christmas Day one of our hard drives failed. Luckily our backup plan worked. I would suggest that if you haven't tested your backup plan to see if it works. Then you should.
Life is hard? always remember: A 5MB #harddrive being shipped by #IBM in 1956 required #forklift for installation
Back in the day, when hard drives were smaller, people worried about partition format overhead. If you did not know, the file system you use, can determine how much space those files take up to store.
Here is UDF, Btrfs, and exFAT compared with the same files (in that order). exFAT actually takes up more file space.
That said, these days, most people don't worry so much about file system overhead.

In defense of Mechanical HDD's
In short: they are cheaper, offer larger capacity, and in many cases are more stable/reliable for long term storage, Plus a memory cache device can often close the speed gap significantly.

I want to try to connect a SCSI Hard Drive to an AKAI Professional DSP 16.
Here are the connectors (photos). What kind of specific SCSI cable do I need? How to do it? I'm really not an SCSI expert. I'm a little confused..
- AKAI: x 1, High-pitch 50-pin for external Harddisk connection
- Hard Drive: HP 73 GB Wide ULTRA 320 SCSI - 80 PIN
Thanks so much! :0)
It’s been a while since one of my many backup drives failed. This one held my iMazing backups. Today it decided it won’t mount ever again. Thanks for the years of good service, little guy! #backup #data #harddrive https://instagr.am/p/C33tZCQv6zw/
