Ich brauche bitte mal Schwarmwissen: Seit dem Umstieg von iOS auf #grapheneos vermisse ich die Funktion, mit langem Druck auf die Leertaste den Cursor bewegen zu können. Mit HeliBoard kann ich den Cursor horizontal und vertikal bewegen, aber nicht so präzise.
Kennt ihr eine Alternative?

thinking ahead to my next phone running @GrapheneOS - anybody got opinions on Pixel 6a vs Pixel 7 (those exact models)?
I'm looking for a phone that will last for years, where I can replace the battery without too high a risk of breaking the device. I'm currently satisfied with the horsepower of a Poco F1 with Snapdragon 845 and 6GB RAM.
I'm really leery of the lack of microSD, but I want to try #GrapheneOS as a daily driver, so. #surfhosting
Those who deal with #Android apps such as #AntennaPod getting killed all the time on #GrapheneOS while running in the background should consider disabling "Secure App spawning" (Settings -> Security & Privacy -> Exploit protection). I have been wondering months about how to get this sorted out and apparently so have many other users if you take a look at the AntennaPod issue tracker.

Kannst du dich für die Initiave Linux für Mobil erwärmen? Das heißt ja nicht, dass man jetzt Android nutzt und es gut nutzen kann.
Bei uns stapeln sich Hardware"spenden", die ich mich nicht mehr weitergeben kann, weil Android XY nicht mehr unterstützt wird und damit auch keine Graphenes oder Lineages.
Wegschmeißen oder reine Intranet-Displays, rumgebastel an größere Displays?
Smartphones sind als Fotodisplay oder Smarthomedisplay eher ungeeignet, vorallem nicht im dreistelligen Bereich.
Ein 2nd Life würde mit Linux immer gehen.
Hat sonst jemand Ideen für 5"-6"-WLANfähige Geräte mit 80%-Restkapazität Top-Akkus?

@GrapheneOS I haven't made the switch to #grapheneos yet but will as soon as I get a new phone. In the meantime this app works in regular android and it is great. No tentacles!

I think you have a point, iOS' sandboxing may be more up to snuff.
I've noticed that even on #GrapheneOS, when I log into a single google app, all of the Google apps on that profile have my login information. I have yet to understand how that works or have it explained to me.
But on the other hand, I think Android's sandboxing has gotten a lot better from the last time you used it, perhaps. I've only been daily-driving it since 2020 (and for about a year and a half in 2017-2019), but I've noticed that the number of permissions has steadily increased, as well as more fine-grained control.
One thing I rather like (and don't know if iOS has implemented yet) is that you can grant imprecise location access to an app, only giving them your location within a few street blocks (or really, within a region of a city).
Some Android builds like Graphene also add a sensors permission, as there are libraries out there to do location dead reckoning based on the accl./gyro. sensors alone. (Faux microphone access, too).
I'm not a dev, let alone an iOS dev, but I think a fair amount of iOS' privacy reputation is from privacy-through-obscurity. There's just not a lot of information about what goes on inside apps. Of course, Android has the same problem. They just don't have as much of a reputation for being private.
If I could only convince my friends to never buy android phones from their cell providers. That's freaking insane.
