New from @candicequestions: The climate change-fueled torrential downpour—in what is already the state’s deadliest flood since 1921—has now put the county’s lack of sirens into the spotlight. While some recently retired career NWS meteorologists said local offices in Texas appear to have performed their duties admirably during the floods, they also said the offices have been hindered by staff reductions and the loss of senior staff.
