There's an awful lot being cut out of the MP3, and maybe you can hear it and maybe you can't. On this track, it probably doesn't make a difference. But it's a stark visual.

Benched my AirPods 4 and got a pair of in-ear monitors: I really don't know why I waited so long before doing so.

#IEM + #Flac is a truly refreshing musical experience.

I think it's a simple upgrade everyone should consider: the entry-level price barrier is now low and the quality of the products seems high enough.

For the rest, yes, you need to use a cable.

Ich bin altmodisch und kaufe auch gerne noch Musik zum Herunterladen. Was ich nicht bei Bandcamp oder ähnlichen Angebten von Bands finde, hatte ich gerne bei 7digital.com gekauft, da dieser Shop auch viele FLAC anbietet.
Aber die "Einkaufserfahrung" wird zunehmend schlechter.

1. Die Suchfunktion ist schlecht. Bitte nicht von der Vorschau der Treffer beeinflussen lassen, immer die gesamte Ergebnisliste abrufen. Möglichst vorher schon genau wissen, wie Bandname oder Titel geschrieben werden.

2. Früher klappte die Bezahlung mit Kreditkarte bei mir problemlos. Seit 2024 wird der Bezahlvorgang durch PayPal organisiert, auch wenn man keinen PayPal-Account hat. Genau aufpassen, denn es ist vorangekreuzt, dass in diesem Fall direkt ein PayPal-Account angelegt wird.
Das ganze scheint schlecht in den Shop integriert zu sein. Hatte heute mehrere Anläufe, wo nach der angeblichen Zahlung eine Login-Seite des Shops kam und der Zahlvorgang erneut durchlaufen werden musste.

Apple added OPUS and FLAC support to AudioToolbox a while ago (iOS 17), but for some reason AVPlayer does not support it.

While I appreciate it, it feels very half ass. It’s like they want to use it internally (iMessage Audio Messages are using OPUS), but they don't want to incentivize a larger adoption of it.

So if you want to use OPUS to play audio, you need to build the whole HTTP Streaming mechanic on your own.

Discovered Fooyin music player today, looks great, might become my new favorite audio player. Handles my 20k+ library like a charm. Lots of features.

My #tangara is here! Threw a quick few folders of FLAC onto it for testing. Sounds great. I think I might start keeping a parallel collection of MP3 for this thing, so I can fit more. And it looks like I’ll be looking for a good price on a 2TB SD card…

I've got quite a few albums in #FLAC , looking for a good way to stream them to my devices. #Plex works reasonably well for a local Google Home Max speaker, but I've also got another random #Sonos device... and I'd like to be able to listen to them outside the house too - preferably something that supports #AndroidAuto. Is there such a thing?

I've tried setting up #MusicAssistant, initial impressions were it's too much hassle, but perhaps it's worth the pain? (I also have #Tidal and #Spotify subscriptions, so the promise of integrating all of them is interesting)

I found a good enough MP3/FLAC/OGG tags editor — picard (https://picard.musicbrainz.org/). It supports tag editing, albums cover editing, retrieving metadata from musicbrainz and a simple enough interface.

It's funny enough, but I didn't manage to make it work with musicbrainz — it just doesn't log in, so there's no automatic metadata retrieval. Fortunately, my music catalog is not that big, so it is possible to fix tags/album covers by hand.

I only listen to my high quality FLAC rips on dot matrix printers connected using this cable. You casuals wouldn't understand that.
