Has anyone run a soldering workshop at #EMFCamp and can make suggestions on whether running a starter session is a good idea, and if it is, what things I should think about before committing to anything?

searching for #emfcamp fits and no one is making these?!
You might remember that I wrote in detail about how the Electromagnetic Field camping festival turned out to be the highlight of my summer 2024.
I went to the Strange Games Festival this weekend and be sure that I mean it as a _high_ compliment when I describe it as "Electromagnetic Field x games convention". This SGF was the highlight of my summer 2025 to date.
It's not as well-known as it should be; see https://strangegamesfestival.co.uk/ and think about '26 if the sound of it appeals.
@mhoye This Kubernetes cluster could have been an #EMFCamp badge... http://badge.kaimac.org/w/about
Wait, what's this #BBCMicro #DomesdayProject page about a #BodgehamBadger? Now the crumpet proliferation is starting to make some kind of sense... #EMFCamp #CrumpetCamp
#Bodgeham, yep that's the one. Bodgeham-on-Wye, in the parish of Hackerly. Good old #BBCMicro #DomesdayProject. I knew it would be in there somewhere... #EMFCamp
Now, what's that place called again? Ah yes, #Bodgeham. Hereford and Worcestershire, as it used to be known. That's the one... #EMFCamp #BBCMicro #DomesdayProject
How does this #BBCMicro #DomesdayProject system work again? Ah, I see... #EMFCamp
Hello there, locally hosted copy of the #BBCMicro #DomesdayProject system. I wonder what mysterious delights are to be found when spelunking through your database? #EMFCamp
Imagining #Hexpansion Club... "For only £9.99/month, yes £9.99/month, we will send you an exciting new hexpansion - every month! Sometimes two or three if we have a few to get rid of... What will it be this month? A tiny plastic duck with glowing red eyes, or a miniature geiger counter to help you find any misplaced orphan sources? You'll never regret it as your house slowly fills up with weird hexagonal contraptions! For only £9.99/month!!" #EMFCamp #Tildagon
What if I bought a ton of breadboards, jumper wires, logic chips, CPUs and other components to EMFCamp and just set up somewhere making a communal breadboard computer anyone could help build or modify
@philpem Although to be fair the new look Gyrating Hexagonal Null Sector at #EMFCamp 2026 absolutely *slaps* https://martinh.net/talks/why2025/#/0/33
@penguin42 @mcnewton I had two slightly terrifying thoughts over breakfast which I must infect people's brains with before I forget them...
1) Imagine retrocomputing as the ultimate hiding place to stash "low background" information for safety. Think Kiwix version of Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg etc...
2) Imagine a magical realist #EMFCamp centric version of the #DomesdayProject. The Bodgeham-on-Wye entry has extensive details of the hunt for the elusive #BodgehamBadger
Yay, finally finished my #WHY2025 slides! Now, when is my talk again?
