Part Two

- Moved photos from Google Photos to Ente Photos
- Moved my PKM and Notes to Logseq
- Moved from Chome and Google Search to Firefox, Tor and DuckDuckGo
- Just deleted Reddit and started a Lemmy account.

It's been a ride and I'm open to other suggestions and guides.

I feel like #degoogle seems to embody a greater movement to leave bigtech. Here are the crazy things I've done over the last month or so.
- Installed Arch on my laptop about a month ago
- re-engaged my Mastodon and Bluesky while deleting Twitter and unfriending everyone on Facebook
- Installed GrapheneOS on my Pixel
- Moved email to custom domain and Tuta from Gmail
- Moved to NextCloud in place of Google Drive
- Moved photos from Google Photos to Ente Photos

LOL @ „#AI”… A bit longer article, but worth it.

housefresh.com/beware-of-the-g

tldr: Google and it’s LLM asked for a recommendation sells you on press release „facts”, fakes pros and cons, takes data from other AIs products listings, contradicts itself on the same product or simply recommends stuff that straight up doesn’t exist…

In the same time it’s deplatforming small businesses and honest reviews based on real life, unbiased tests…🥹😅

@flokinet I've mostly been deGoogled for a number of years but the last few years I've taken even larger steps. First I swapped out Google Search for #duckduckgo. Then I began using open source apps to replace nearly all Android apps & tried to lock down Android best I could. Ditched gmail for Tuta. I finally decided to go all out and replaced Android OG with #grapheneos. This completes my transition from Google in its entirety and I couldn't be happier.

Since having my Nothing 3a, I've disabled all the Google 'user' apps.

I've now spent the last 20 minutes uninstalling them using the Android Debug Bridge over a Windows Command Prompt. Reset phone. Absolutely no change at all.

Why Google can't actually allow you to uninstall them like you can any other app suggests what Google really thinks of you.

Dear Magic Earth team,

I am a very happy user of your navigation software and fully support your decision to go for a paid only approach. In fact, I think the price is more than fair.

However, another aspect of the announced system will make it impossible to continue using it. And that is the requirement to pay using the Google Store.

Your product is one of those used by the rising population of de-googled Android users. In fact, I have not met anyone using it who is not using it to avoid Google.

Having to install Google Services on the phone is a price many of your customers, me included, won't be able or willing to pay.

Please introduce another payment option by credit card, so I can continue to use and recommend your product.

Thank you very much.

Best wishes,

I am beginning to hate bigtech. Is it purposely designed to make us feel disempowered, erode any sense of control over our choices, lives? Do we buy stuff just to be manipulated by it? Its getting really mad though. I get a bad feeling.
