I was always surprised why there is not a way to sync #calendars and #contacts in #android without an app.
Although there are FOSS apps that work well, I'd expect that such a basic feature would be something the OS would do out of the box, specially considering the OS already provides an abstraction for "accounts".
For #degoogled #androidROM it makes even more sense, since most likely users will sync contact and calendar from a "custom" #caldav #carddav service.

This is some bs. If AOSP development is made less publicly accessible it does NOT " simplify things for developers" but rather it hinders it for de-googled privacy respecting ROMs and their device ports. The need for continued and ramped up efforts developing alternative mobile OS's, like Ubuntu Touch, Sailfish OS, Droidian, Mobian, Postmarket, etc. is even more apparent with this move by Google.

I have #deGoogled my phone by (ironically) picking up a second-hand #pixel7 and immediately installing #grapheneOS.
Brings me right back to the days of building #gingerbread for my #htc #raider.
I love that there's no #google on this slab - but I have the option of adding google services in case I ever absolutely *need* to use a piece of software available only on play.
Being an #android oldschooler... I was some impressed with the web installer. My grandparents could have installed Graphene on their phones themselves. Fantastic.

Trae un bloqueador de trackers muy pulenta, que podes discriminar según si querés que los deje o no pasar(algunas apps los "requieren" para funcionar).
Trae un fake de GPS para flasear tu ubicación y poner la que quieraa.
Y quizás lo mejor, ocultar la ip vía VPN de tor. Todo incorporado por default en el sistema, una masa total.

Yes. Now that I have my #degoogled phone fully operational, and all together managing to remove from Google, it's scary how depended I've become of their system, I have energy to start to waste my time on social networks again.
I did move from #iodéOS to #e/os and #murena there's not really any big difference, but for reason unknown to me, and to anyone I asked, the battery life was really bad with iode and I didn't find any fix.
So E/os it's now on. And I have been very happy with this.
Transition from Google has been big, as said I've been using Google stuff alit. And "surprisingly" google doesn't support that transition well.
Development of #opensource #Android operating systems without# Google surveillance has been going on for years for phones, and we have good products to choose from. Tablets have been missing, but now #Murena has launched a #degoogled #tablet based on no less than Google Pixel.

#Iodeos seems OK. After I realised how to do the installation, there was, to me one missing part in the iodes own manual. But after that, it was really easy.
Battery drain is high do.. But maybe it's just something that need little tinkering if I don't find any solution, then I'll probably jump to e/os since I need more battery than I currently have.. It's like half of #fairphone original os gives.
But it feels good to have #degoogled phone.. And it was nice that it was so easy to do, so thank you Fairphone and Iode.
Now I have to start to see where all I have used gmail to register to start to move it to another or delete it completely.

Mutta puhlutin on #degoogled. Seuraavaksi aattelin alkaa kattoon mihin kaikkeen oon gmailin sitonut, että pääsen senkin sulkemaan.
Mistä tuli mieleen, onko mitää google keeping tapasta tarjota? Siitä molen aina tykänny.

jedyna zmiana dotyczy Masto. olałem Tusky'ego na rzecz powrotu do FediLab.. podstawowe aplikacje u mnie: Firefox, Feeder, Monocles, AntennaPod, SchildiChat, Transistor, InnerTune, Tmux..
