"Following a noyb complaint and litigation over inactivity, the Swedish Data Protection Authoirty (IMY) has issued a fine of 58 Mln Swedish Crown (about € 5 Million) against Spotify. While users have a right to get access to all their data and information on the use of their data, Spotify did not fully comply with this obligation. The IMY was in charge of the case because Spotify has its main establishment in Sweden. The noyb complaint was joined with a complaint filed in the Netherlands by Bits of Freedom."

Through a historical perspective,
I believe we are about at the same level of protection for data than medieval peasants had for their food.

I dare to hope one day we might get out of this medieval dark age of data privacy.

But it might take a few peasant revolts before we get there.

@ldubost This is just another great example of why no EU entity, be it a private citizen, government organization, or company should depend on non-EU cloud providers.

The best day to switch was yesterday, the second best day to switch is today. There are many alternatives within the EU.
