It had amazing battery life and a day of music.</p><p>I loved the experience.</p><p>The last decade the portable music experience just became one-of-many apps on my phone. One more choice, one more distraction.</p><p>Recently I noticed I never listen to full albums anymore.</p><p>So I bought the 2025 version. A shiny black music rectangle. And now I actually listen and enjoy music again.</p><p>Anyway. Experience the same loss? I know lots of people recommend different streaming apps like Deezer as alternatives to Spotify or Apple music, but I got rid of Spotify in favor of a digital audio player. I forgot how much I love looking for new artists and music to listen to, and taking the time to visit record stores or peruse Bandcamp to find new music to listen to has reinvigorated a dormant love of music. #dap #music #degoogle #physicalmedia #cdcollector #recordcollector

Irgendwo absurd - aber hilfreich: man kann sich vom „Digitalen Arbeitsplatz für Lehrkräfte“ #badenwürttemberg per Mail an eine externe Mailadresse über den Eingang einer Mail in seinem Dienstpostfach xy@bw.schule informieren lassen.
Verhindert immerhin, dass ich mehrfach täglich meinen Posteingang unnötig per Browser prüfen muss. #dap #bildungbw #fedilz #bluelz

Loving the premise & promise of the #tangara #dap. I am slowly pulling away from Big Tech and shifting more to #FOSS, so I have happily signed up. The form factor reminded me of my 2014 #fiio X1 DAP. To scratch the itch until shipping, I have dug it out of storage and fired up for old times' sake (my lossless catalogue badly needs an update!

Does anyone have suggestions for a DAP (portable music player)? I'm going to be flying in October and don't want to suck all my phone battery on playing music.
Ideally something that can push some relatively beefy planar headphones and some chi-fi IEMs - budget is around $400 USD.

@michael @lightweight @anildash Yeah, this issue is one of the things @pluralistic has written quite a bit about.
In my country, refusing to work with any Microsoft-derived technology in IT will basically remove >70% of jobs, right from the get-go.
We did get some good things out of M$'s laziness though, like the #LSP & #DAP #OpenStandard #protocols, which work just fine in #Emacs (why VSC when you have Emacs?) and have greatly improved its ability to be used for #Java among other languages.

My anecdotal evidence is engagement is down over 90% of what it use to be post layoffs. It's kinda like the manipulation there was turned off ( up and down vote on the 
's as well as post view numbers ) has changed and a new algorithm of 'iF you DON'T PAY then you get #deboosted i.e. #muted on searches, hastags, and wotnot' nonsense.
I followed mostly news and infosec and government stuff and tons of cat accounts and the only reason I seem to have stuck around is mainly for the cat account contents but most of that content is slowly migrating over to #Web3 so....
Now I spend less than 30mins a day engagement wise there and even that now seems like... Too much.
