Already… #Trump has granted #clemency to at least 8 individuals #convicted on fed #drug charges. Some, incl’g Hoover, have extensive #criminal records involving #violence & #gun charges.

14 men were charged in the plan to #kidnap & #murder #GretchenWhitmer, a #Democrat, & 9 were #convicted. The ringleader of the group, Barry Croft Jr., was given the longest sentence at >19 years.

#Trump, the first #convicted #felon elected president, has erased #ethical boundaries & dismantled the instruments of accountability that constrained his predecessors. There will be no official investigations because Trump has made sure of it. He has fired government inspectors general & #ethics watchdogs, installed partisan loyalists to run the DOJ, FBI & regulatory agencies & dominated a Republican-controlled Congress unwilling to hold hearings.

#DOJ reaches deal with #Boeing to allow planemaker to avoid prosecution

DOJ said on Friday it has struck a deal in principle with Boeing to allow it to avoid prosecution in a #fraud case stemming from 2 #fatal 737 MAX #PlaneCrashes that killed 346 people.

The agreement allows Boeing to avoid being branded a #convicted #felon & is a blow to families who lost relatives in the crashes & had pressed prosecutors to take the US planemaker to trial.
