I would like to thank the local non-chain hardware store for still having RCA cables - there's multiple years worth of dust on the packaging, but I don't care, I'm happy 😊

Testing composite video on the Apple IIe tonight!

Note: I love what's written at the bottom of the packaging - "Suffering is caused by endless desire, the desire that creates bad Karma". Probably means cable gnomes will return the missing cables.

I am BEYOND excited to share this image with you all. Yesterday, I captured the International Space Station passing in front of the sun! My camera was shooting about 20 frames per second and I got 13 frames with ISS in it, so we're talking well under 1 second.

Phase 0, the recapping, of the #restoration of this #Shiljalis #PortableTV was completed yesterday.
Today I completed phase 1: bypassing the RF modulator and conditioning a #composite signal for video input.
Next will be feeding audio to the internal amplifier, and then tuck everything inside the box, preferably without drilling anything.

I can't believe how sharp this screen has become. And just two weeks ago it was in a pile of junk, drenched in water, at a #fleamarket.

Tough, I wonder why my pixel keeps adding this bluish tint to every #blackandwhite CRT...

This is my first attempt at a meteor shower composite! I stuck my DSLR outside with a 14mm lens on and let it run for several hours capturing 12 second exposures and then waiting 20 seconds. I'm going to try again tonight shooting continuously on a higher ISO and really focusing my exposures on the peak meteor time between 1 and 2am.
