I took a look at #luanti for #linux today. They now have SDL2 support, which is a big improvement. They also claim F11 works to go in and out of fullscreen. In X11? #Wayland? @Luanti

Good news from the #CZSpectrumPlus that I am trying to get back to life:
having replaced the proprietary #ZX8401 chip with a modern FPGA based replacement, the system now comes up again - wooohooo !! 
I've also replaced the old keyboard membrane which had brittled to oblivion with a new one, however only a fraction of the keys are working. Maybe I need to replace the keyboard "big" ribbon cable connector as well (I already replaced the "small" one).
But things are going into the right dircetion ...
EDIT: I've replaced the "big" / "wide" keyboard connector with a new one and now all keys are working. More footage later, gotta go now to get cat food.

Needless to say it would be a godsent for anyone stuck on #EDGEland and slower speeds (i.e. #SATCOM like #Iridium)...

any rsync experts on fedi ?
in the past I've cloned disks on linux using dd :
(assume /dev/sda and /dev/sdb have the same geometry)
# dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb status=progress
but would rsync work for this task? Is this a good idea? Why or why not?
# rsync --info=progress2 /dev/sda /dev/sdb

Back to the #CZSpectrumPlus with the defunct #RAM - in preparation for the repalcement RAM that will arrive toorrow, I tried to de-solder the #IC marked in the photograph, but there were three pins that seemed to be nuke soldered to the #PCB and which I just couldn't free from solder in order to remove the chip. Especially pins 1 and 16 are very hard to come by.
Since I did not want to #heat #damage the PCB I stopped for the moment being to rethink my options. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
Meanwhile, I was able to cleanly remove what seems to be a makeshift fix for the keyboard connector. A fresh one, including a new keyboard membrane, is underway.
Did you know that #RJ11 connectors come in left and right chiralities – i.e., the second row of pins is either shifted to the left or to the right? Of course, the #macintosh Plus #clone uses the less common variety used in the grey connector on the right, which I had to salvage from an old phone...

I’m not usually happy to have Behringer instruments, although I do have a few utilities at home and in my studio. It’s more about their attitude and less about the fact they clone synths, which I don’t think is a problem necessarily. This one however is an instrument I could not pass on. In #NYT's rationale to go after 100s of #Wordle clones, they keep bringing up a new term: "copyrighted #gameplay".
This language is EXTREMELY dangerous. NYT MUST NOT get away with this. Else, other companies will feel motivated to go after ANY #clone or even just game that is "similar enough". It could be their slow death.
This is 100% an attack on #gaming itself as the gaming world was always very derivative.
Good that #copyright does NOT cover mere ideas.
