Been searching for 25mm pins, so it's #treasure time! Cleared out a large industrial sink full of stuff in the garage. Mostly tractor parts, PTO shafts, universal joints, that sort of thing. Some bent, some servicable.

An adze! In good condition, because it laid in a puddle of leaked out grease. Very happy about that one. Just needs sharpening really.

And some very specific clamp thing. Looks like a walnut cracker perhaps?

Moved most of it to the tractor parts shed, where I opened the cabinet in there for the first time and found Mikhail Gorbachev's suit and shirts

Lol, found more diesel in what I'd assumed was a water carrier

Only 3 liters, but this means we can't really use that thing for water storage.

Don't have enough degreaser to clean this tank out and it has no inspection lid anyways.

Defencestration.

Most of the fence posts pulled out easily, with a few exceptions. The fence itself however was ingrown like a bad toenail. I had to pull really hard and then clear a bunch of soil, roots and weeds off the bottom.

A young maple (those really like to self-seed around here) and some thorny monstrosity that had incorporated several fence links got extracted, too.

Now there's room to expand the garden with some no-dig beds :)

Etwas später, unsichtbare Sonne hinter unsichtbarem Zenit. Wind schüttelt einige Tropfen aus der Fichte. Mittagsbier und Zigarette neben dem Gemeindehaus. Viele der Sticker an Lichtmast und Geländer sind ausgeblichen und schreien trotzdem noch. Auch: Altes aufräumen. Dinge wiederfinden, die man nicht suchte. Was war eigentlich die Erwartung? Immer noch Schleier über Feld und Wald.

It's done! Here's the epic moment after the 11m concrete beam has left the yard (leaving a nice brown skidmark).

I was going to film it, but the gusty wind blew the camera over before it got interesting.

The other beam was damaged and broke in half, leading to some sketchy cutting of rebar under load (ping!) and dragging two halves out. Had to shovel the concrete debris out of the garden, that took even longer.

It's finally spring*, so garden cleanup can commit!

First, this water carrier contraption needs to get out of the way. The tank is actually just rolling around on top of the trailer frame.

It's been sitting so long, the planks it sat on rotted completely and it sank deep into the ground.

One wheel actually spun, the other got convinced with a pry bar.

Parked it under a big apple tree for now.

* May be a false spring, but we take it

Took pictures of the steel chunks in the yard a while ago. One had a part number, which I just looked up.

Apparently swamp tracks for a DT-75 dozer. Matches the comparison photo I found.

Got the idler wheels, too. Rest of dozer missing.

Guess what I found hanging on the wall tonight, behind a bunch of old alternator belts and a crumbling piece of rubber hose.

Yup, a draw knife, a few days after I wanted one. How awesome is that.

The bark spade is still better for debarking, but I did want a draw knife too!

Garage cleanup continues. Sniffed various cannisters, finding another 20L old diesel, some old petrol (meh), a giant coffee grinder, three meat grinders, winter car window washer fluid, a mysterious thick green fluid (???) and a clear thin fluid that smells weird.

And in a bag of what I thought was fertilizer, these things. Different oval shapes, polished, beveled edges, I believe made from the fake marble stuff used for gravestones. Heavy goth coasters?

Currently cleaning up some old accounts ... Then this happened. It seems like the time #floatplane scheduled for deleting is the date computers see as 0 ... Don't know why.
