So in light of @calyxos pausing their development I have reflashed my #fairphone5 with @iode. first impressions are good. Broadly similar experience. I've noticed that #curve fails to register for #contactless payments it hangs on enabling tap to pay. I have also noticed that PlayStore apps (via Aurora) I don't seem to be getting push notifications from them. Both of these worked in #calyxos

The #CalyxOS -> #IodéOS migration has been pretty smooth, so far.

I didn't trust Seedvault to handle it, so I did everything manually, which was exhausting. But I know that everything works.

The only feature I'm missing is the built-in work profile management, but it has TrackerControl-like features built-in so I might not even need it.

Just catalogued the approximately 60 core #Android apps I use, and made manual backups of all of the ones that have that feature.

That was exhausting. Now I'm ready to migrate. :P

I think I'm going to go with #IodéOS. That seems to be the closest to #CalyxOS (feature-wise), which is what I've used since September 2021.

Really not looking forward to migrating away from #CalyxOS.

Even with #Seedvault backups, this is a total pain. Actually, Seedvault has been next to useless in my experience, I find ways to back up each app individually, which of course takes a ton of time and effort.

#CalyxOS releases and security updates will be paused for 4-6 months due to retooling, personnel departures and the recent changes to #AOSP. They've released a "letter to the community" here.

I'm debating on whether to move to GrapheneOS or, since their social media team attacked and "banned" me, and accused me of being some kind of spy because I mentioned CalyxOS in a comment, I may just use regular #Android and lock it down the best I can.
