ufofeed.com/142205/do-you-thin Do you think sending probes directly to the sites where water and other liquids are being ejected is a better idea for accessing the subsurface oceans of Enceladus and Europa, rather than drilling multiple kilometers through the solid icy surface from scratch? #Astrobiology #Astrophysics #Cosmology #PlanetaryScience #Space #SpaceExploration

#UMPlus - NGC 2146 by Jim Thommes

universomagico.net/2025/08/ngc

This image by astronomer Jim Thommes shows the galaxy NGC 2146, which has been severely deformed so that an immense dusty arm of glowing material now lies directly in front of the galaxy's center. NGC 2146 is classified as a barred spiral galaxy, but its most distinctive feature is the dusty spiral arm that.....

#UMPlus - Messier 29 by Emil Ivanov

universomagico.net/2025/08/mes

This image by astronomer and tenor Emil Ivanov shows Messier 29, also cataloged as NGC 6913, an open star cluster located in the direction of the Cygnus constellation. Less impressive than the others, it is located in a star-filled region of the Milky Way, near the bright star Gamma Cygni, known as.....

A team of astronomers have used ALMA to observe the supergiant star DFK 52, and found a cloud of ejected material 1.4 light-years across!

DFK 52 is around 10-15 times more massive than the Sun. About 4000 years ago it went through an episode of extreme mass shedding, and then slowed down to its current rate. It has already lost 5-10% of its mass, for reasons still unkown 🤔

#UMPlus - A Gamma-Ray Pulsar

universomagico.net/2025/08/un-

This fascinating field of view harbors an incredible mystery, invisible to the human eye. It was captured using the OGM spectrograph on the Gemini North telescope in Hawaii. Within this nebulous region, gamma-ray emission is present. PSR J2030+4415 is an extremely dense object left behind by the death of a.....
