The problem (as illustrated by considering the former military juntas in Chile and Argentina) is that such regimes are not interested in counting their victims.
So the concept of "enough" in this situation is not in their vocabulary and hence is of no consequence to them.

Whether you are feeling upbeat about the #stock #market may depend, in part, on your political alignment. Gallup reported in April that 58% of #Republicans expected the stock market to rise, compared with only 21% of independents & 12% of #Democrats.

The #Marines—who have a reputation for lethality—were deployed only twice during this period: once during the 1967 #protest at the #Pentagon, where they appear to have played a minor role, & again amid the violent unrest in Washington, DC, following #MLK’s #assassination. President John F. Kennedy considered sending them to help #desegregate the University of #Mississippi in 1962 but ultimately declined.

Of the 8 deployments, 2 were to enforce #desegregation court orders, most famously at #LittleRock, #Arkansas, in 1957. 4 were to quell riots, 3 of which were part of the numerous outbreaks across the country that followed the #assassination of #MartinLutherKingJr in 1968.

Can someone, who knows state laws better, tell me why Vance Boelter's wife wasn't detained after being stopped by cops? I don't get it. I read news reports saying she was caught with firearms, luggage, thousands in cash & a passport but they didn't detain her? That seems quite messed up since it happened before her murdering husband was caught. If the murder suspect had been brown/black - cops wouldn't have been soft at all to his very suspicious wife - they'd have cuffed/detained her & asked questions later.
For folks saying Boelter didn't have much of a security background - you may want to read about his past work experiences being a corporate mercenary in Global South areas.
A special congratulations to Minnesotans who participated in the No Kings demonstrations in spite of there being an assassin still on the loose.

Other comment, approximately, from police chief is that the suspect was "indistinguishable from any police officer in this room, had a vest, badge, taser, sidearm, you'd be unable to tell the difference between them and a police officer here" plus they were driving a black SUV with lights.
