Ned Yeung<p>Very important for all in <a href="https://beige.party/tags/alberta" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>alberta</span></a>, no matter what your municipality. In order to register to vote in municipal elections on October 20th, you will need to complete your registration online by August 15th, only 1 week away and over 2 months from election day. You need to register online, and you need to register with an Alberta government-issued photo ID: ether an Alberta Driver's License or an Alberta Identification card. No other identification qualifies except those two.</p><p>This is clear-cut voter suppression, meant to dramatically reduce the number of people who will be voting. All introduced by the UCP government who seeks to take away the autonomy of our formerly independent municipal elections, which are now fraught with party politics which were legislated into being by the UCP.</p><p>The large municipalities of <a href="https://beige.party/tags/yeg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>yeg</span></a> and <a href="https://beige.party/tags/yyc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>yyc</span></a> are the only threat to the UCP's authoritarian power control, because municipalities are inherently left-leaning due to the diversity of people and need for urbanization to sustain us into the future.</p><p>It's no wonder that the UCP wishes to take away our autonomy, suppress our votes, and divide us with rage-baiting politics.</p><p>What's shocking is the sheer depth and volume of their attacks on our democracy. Not so shocking though, when you understand that Danielle Smith sees Donald Trump's MAGA Republicans as a "model for Alberta", and is emboldened by all his actions south of the border.</p><p>It's disheartening to see what is being done to our cities in this province, and to feel the effects of the divisive politics that are taking over and destroying our communities and neighbourhoods.</p><p>But now more than ever, we have to pull out all the stops to do anything we can to fight back, and make our vote heard.</p><p><a href="https://www.voterlink.ab.ca/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">voterlink.ab.ca/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://beige.party/tags/abpoli" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>abpoli</span></a></p>

Jan Legutko - landscape photosI visited Canada with my close friends. We spent some time in the Rockies. I always wanted to visit Maligne Lake because of Spirit Island (the photos are on the way). You can get there only by boat, you can’t get there by car. The cruise is stunning - you see raw wilderness around you, sometimes someone in a kayak, mountains and trees growing around the lake. It was August but the weather was cloudy. In this edit I wanted to show you the atmosphere I felt that day. I hope you like it.<br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/canada?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#canada</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/malignelake?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#malignelake</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/jasper?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#jasper</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/rockies?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#rockies</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/alberta?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#alberta</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/landscape?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#landscape</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/nature?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#nature</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/travel?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#travel</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/photography?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#photography</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/mountains?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#mountains</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/lake?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#lake</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/view?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#view</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/scenery?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#scenery</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/boating?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#boating</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/nationalpark?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#nationalpark</a>
