This could be the day I upload Book-2 for publication. I spent yesterday formatting.

At a certain point, you just want it done.

I’ll review what I did yesterday before I make a decision, or maybe I’m hedging because I need coffee.

Working on the Gothic unicorn novella for the Tower of the Rosewater Goblet collection this evening. Enjoying it as it's fleshing out some aspects of Sesen I've not been able to spend enough time on in other published short fiction.

Giving a timeline to my blurbs-givers and my cover designer means I have a deadline to work with also.

Good day!

As early as possible, I’ll walk this morning in the cool air. Then, I’ll race off to take care of errands early before the traffic hits.

After that, it’s time for formatting Book2 in Vellum. It’s getting real!

Once Book2 is published, the door opens for cleaning & more hiking.

In each of my stories, cooperation becomes important, to various degrees. Even enemies can learn to cooperate for their mutual benefit.

Personally, I believe it's a human trait that our current cult of capitalism and authoritarianism is trying to erode. Even more reason to practice it, in my eyes.

Welp, just got out Beta Version 2 of the novel to two of the beta readers. That's a week of furious editing and anxiety, over. Now maybe I can get some new writing done?

Good day!

After my epic hike, I was amazed how my body rebounded. My poor sleep that night, though, left me drowsy.

So, I read a lot.

Last night, my sleep was the envy of rocks. Now I’m ready to prep Book-2 for publication. I did some work yesterday, but didn’t trust myself.

At the end I pan over Marshall Canyon. There’s an abandoned ski area. At the last, it points towards Hellgate Canyon.

What an adventure!

I hiked into the high country while climbing Mt. Jumbo on the way (it didn’t take much).

14-miles (22.5K) & 3,629 ft (1,106M).

The only people I saw were close to the trailhead.

Then, the day waning, as was my endurance, I found a good reason to turn around.

Another PSA about Amazon:

They only pay authors 30% in royalties (even if they price above 2.99) when someone buys a book through Amazon COM while not actually living in the US.

That's right. Amazon "steals" 40% of my royalties because the customer is in a different location that the USA.

Why?

Because they can. Because we authors let them get away with that. No other store does this.

Buy direct. Or at least not through Amazon.
