Christof Schöch<p>After the conference & day trip, it was time for meetings. We did plenty! I took part in delegation meetings with <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/AcademiaSinica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AcademiaSinica</span></a> and <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/NTU" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NTU</span></a> (National Taiwan Univ.), but there were many more. Happy International Translation Day! High-quality translations between languages drive global commerce and make world literature possible, enabling a great author in one country to inspire a writer in another land whose work then influences authors elsewhere, in an endless exchange of creativity and inspiration.

'll be giving a talk next Wednesday at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, on "Three Hundred Tang Poems as Qing Anthology and World Literature." It is based on the critical introduction to my new translation of 唐詩三百首, the most well-known anthology of Tang poetry, which I'm currently finishing for Oxford University Press.
