Today I got an email notification from #Unsplash informing me that my #Fediverse stock photo just hit the 1,000 downloads milestone. But when I clicked on its link I saw that the number is actually closer to 2k downloads - yay

Good morning Fedi friends!

ICYMI yesterday I created a "stock" photo for flagship Fediverse apps* - so that writers could use it to illustrate articles about the #Fediverse.

(*Lemmy is a shortcut to the Lemmy.world website.)

I applied the KISS principle (Keep It Simple) because mainstream media does such a terrible job covering the Fediverse. I didn't want to add extra complexity.

I took this photo about 3 years ago. I was captivated by the landscape and the beauty of the geometries it captured. There was a gentle breeze rustling the plants. There was nothing else to hear, just the sound of the plants swaying. It was an oasis of peace and silence.

Moreover, this photo has garnered quite a success on #Unsplash as well!

Wprowadza ona dwie nowe wyszukiwarki - #Unsplash oraz #Reddit (dzięki @lukaszwojcik@mastodon.pl za podpowiedź z tym Redditem!).

A poza tym już jest dostępna wtyczka do #Chrome oraz innych przeglądarek, które mają dostęp do Chrome Web Store. Zmienia ona stronę główną oraz stronę nowej karty z domyślnej na Quklook. Dla osób technicznych - tak, wspiera najnowszy #Manifest3.
Jeśli ktoś chciałby przetestować - piszcie, a ja dodam Was do grupy testerskiej #CWS.

Ma ktoś jakiś pomysł jaką jeszcze wyszukiwarkę dodać do #Quklook? Tym razem skierowałbym się w kierunku popularnych aplikacji. Mamy już #YouTube, #Wikipedia, pojawi się #Unsplash, ale nie mam pomysłu co jeszcze może się przydać. Może GitHub?

I've been hearing about unsplash.com as a venue for photographers to post their work.

I want to make sure I understand the value proposition here clearly compared to, say, a CC-BY-2.0 license. The ideas is that I allow people to use my work for free in exchange for exposure, and the only catch is that I don't actually get the exposure because they don't have to credit me? What's not to love?
